Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’ – Corkscrew or Dragon’s Claw Willow

Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’, the Dragon’s Claw Willow or Corkscrew Willow, is a deciduous tree characterized by its uniquely twisted and contorted branches. Introduce from China in the 1900s it is sometimes called the Peking Willow. Growing to a height of up to 12 metres, its winter form of twisted branches ensures year round interest, and it is prized for its distinctive, curly appearance and is often used in landscaping for its aesthetic appeal.
