Acer campestre
Field Maple
From: £28.00
The UK’s only native Maple, Acer campestre is known for its bright yellow leaves, moderate size and adaptability, making it a popular choice for native planting and hedgerows.
Typically grows to a height of 15-25 metres (50-80 feet) with a rounded to oval crown. The bark is light brown to grey, initially smooth, but becoming rough and fissured with age. A beautiful yellow in autumn, the leaves are opposite, simple, and have five lobes with a slightly serrated margin. They are 5-16 cm (2-6 inches) long and wide.
Bare root is typically available end of November to April, weather and demand dependent.
