Euonymus alatus ‘Compactus’, Winged Spindle or Burning Bush, is a deciduous shrub renowned for its vibrant autumn foliage. When grown as a tree form, it typically reaches a height of 3 to 4 metres, though occasionally it can grow slightly taller, up to around 5 meters. Its branches form a compact, rounded crown, making it an excellent choice for smaller landscapes or as an accent tree in larger gardens. The foliage consists of small, oval-shaped leaves that turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and purple in autumn, providing a stunning display of colour. Small green flowers are followed by red-purple fruit containing orange seeds. Harmful if eaten.
