Larix kaempferi – Japanese Larch

Larix kaempferi, commonly known as the Japanese Larch, is a vigorous, deciduous conifer growing to a height of up to 30 metres. The tree has a conical shape, with horizontal branches that may droop slightly. Its leaves are needle-like, soft, and bright green in spring and summer, turning golden-yellow in autumn before falling. The bark is initially smooth and grey, becoming rough and flaky with age. The Japanese Larch is often used in forestry and as an ornamental tree due to its rapid growth and attractive appearance.
