Acer griseum, commonly known as Paperbark Maple, is a small deciduous tree native to central China. It is admired for its distinctive, exfoliating bark, which peels away in thin, papery layers to reveal a rich, cinnamon-brown inner bark, adding year-round interest to gardens and landscapes. The tree typically grows to a height of 6-9m with a similar spread, featuring a rounded to oval crown.

Paperbark Maple prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soils and thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is prized for its ornamental bark, beautiful fall foliage, and relatively low maintenance requirements, making it an excellent choice for residential gardens, parks, and arboretums.
