Salix alba

Salix alba, commonly known as the white willow, is a deciduous tree native to Europe and western and central Asia. It typically reaches heights of 10 to 30 meters (about 33 to 98 feet). The tree is recognized for its slender, elongated leaves that are silvery-green on the underside, giving it a distinctive appearance. Salix alba is often cultivated for its ornamental value and its historical use in traditional medicine, particularly for its bark, which contains salicin, a compound similar to aspirin.
