Metasequoia glyptostroboides

Metasequoia glyptostroboides, the Dawn Redwood, is a fast-growing deciduous tree that can reach a height of 35–50 metres. This species, which was thought to be extinct until rediscovered in China in the 1940s, features a conical shape with feathery, fern-like foliage that turns reddish-brown before falling in the autumn. It is notable for its distinctive, shaggy bark and tolerance to various soil conditions, making it a popular choice for ornamental planting in parks and large estates.
