Davidia involucrata, commonly known as the Handkerchief or Dove Tree, is a deciduous tree native to China. It is renowned for its unique flowers, which resemble fluttering white handkerchiefs or doves perched among the branches, hence its common names. The tree typically reaches heights of 10 to 20 metres, though exceptional specimens may grow taller. Its large heart-shaped leaves add to its ornamental value, turning golden-yellow in autumn. This tree thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers partial shade to full sun, making it a striking addition to gardens and parks worldwide.
