Cornus mas (Cornelian Cherry)

Cornus mas is a deciduous shrub or small tree prized for its tiny bright yellow flowers which appear in late winter on bare stems, followed by bright red, cherry-like fruit in the autumn when its green foliage turns beautiful shades of reddish-purple. It typically reaches a height and spread of 5 metres.
