Amelanchier canadensis (also known as the Serviceberry or Juneberry) is a deciduous tree (or small shrub) native to North America, typically found in moist, well-drained soils. This small tree will grow up between 4 and 8 metres in height. It is known for its attractive white flowers that bloom in early spring, followed by edible, sweet, purple-black berries in summer. In autumn its leaves turn a vibrant red-orange, adding to its ornamental appeal. The Serviceberry is also valued for its wildlife benefits, providing food and habitat for birds and insects.
